About Us
Mission Statement
The New Beginnings Club enhances the quality of life for Survivors of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Stroke. New Beginnings ABI & Stroke Recovery Association is committed to providing support and educational services for Survivors and their families and Caregivers.
About New Beginnings
The New Beginnings Club provides social, recreation, education and leisure opportunities to survivors and everyone impacted by brain injury or stroke.
There are daily and weekly scheduled programs. Some programs include but are not limited to; arts and crafts, fitness, woodworking, educational opportunities and vocational training. We plan classes and outings outside of the Club from time to time, and these may include: horse-back riding, swimming, bowling, special events and picnics, etc.
The Club works to support all survivors and their families to regain empowerment and friendship after their illness/injury. The Club is a non-medical facility that will remind you of your living-room and the staff work hard to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves.
If there is an activity you would like to see in the Club, please feel free to talk to an Activities Director.
If you need assistance attending or require other rehabilitative support, staff at the Club can help you connect to services available within the community.
Amalgamation
In 2015, the Brain Injury Association of Chatham-Kent and the Sarnia-Lambton Stroke Recovery Association decided to join forces as an integrated organization to form New Beginnings ABI & Stroke Recovery Association.
The Club’s staff work together to share information and resources that will allow both sites to continue to expand through awareness/education and increased programming.
